About the Position

Grace Church School seeks to hire a full-time assistant to the Athletic Department and Fitness Coordinator to support student-athletes in grades 7-12.  The position would start in August 2024.

 

Qualifications: 

  • BA Degree minimum, BS in Kinesiology or related field preferred
  • AAAI/ISMA Certification 
  • Certified Functional Strength Coach
  • Certified Strength/Conditioning Specialist 
  • Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist​
  • Current CPR/AED certification
 

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing for and teaching one to two sections of daily strength and conditioning physical education classes.
  • Preparing for and operating training sessions with varsity and junior varsity teams;
  • Coordinating with the Athletic Training Department to provide programming for injured athletes; 
  • Assessing the condition of fitness equipment and communicating needs to the Athletics Department.
  • Attending coaches’ meetings and trainings for each season and handling other administrative tasks as needed.  
  • The successful coach will be committed to working with and developing high school students within a day school committed to promoting health and wellness, citizenship, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Coach multiple seasons within the 5-12 athletics program
  • Skill at cultivating a deep sense of belonging among a diverse community of athletes
  • Participating in grade-level meetings and team planning meetings with PE/Athletics colleagues
  • Prioritizing the safety of students and athletes in all settings
  • Helping to plan and execute school-wide events hosted by the PE and Athletics Departments
  • Serving as an advisor within the high school
  • Teaching within our lab studies program
 

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time faculty position, and the expected salary will be based on the faculty salary scale, ranging from $68,000–$155,040, commensurate with education, experience, and total workload. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life/disability, flexible spending accounts, generous 403(b) contributions with immediate vesting and access to $3100 in professional development funds per year, beginning in your second year of employment.

 

Compensation for coaching is paid separately according to an hourly stipend rate.
