About the position

Grace seeks an energetic receptionist who will serve as an initial point of contact for students, families, faculty, staff, and visitors, creating a welcoming and professional environment.  This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, answering phones, coordinating visitor access along with the school’s security team, and other administrative tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will display professionalism and discretion at all times, have the ability to problem solve and collaborate with colleagues, and be adaptable and flexible. 

This is a full year, full-time position.  The hours are 10am-6pm from Monday through Friday, and this role will cover both of our locations throughout the workday, as needed, to provide support.  Additional hours may be required to support school events, meetings, special programs, or coverage needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer, screen and route telephone calls.
  • Greet children, families, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Partner with Security to manage daily sign-in/sign-out procedures and maintain accurate visitor logs.
  • Respond to routine questions and direct more complex matters to the appropriate staff member.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries.
  • Provide daily lunch coverage and partial day coverage at our Lower School as needed.
  • Support the administrative team with data entry, filing, and other clerical tasks as needed.
  • Help uphold health, safety, and compliance protocols.
  • Coordinate with the School’s other Front Desk Receptionist to ensure seamless coverage and continuity of service throughout the week.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of receptionist or customer service experience.  
  • Experience in an educational environment is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to move between two nearby school buildings as needed throughout the workday to ensure proper coverage
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers and printers.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and willingness to learn new software, including visitor management systems and student information systems.

Compensation

This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position with an expected annualized base salary of $45,000-$50,000.
